While the mid-year Corvettes, those built from 1963 through 1967, get all the ink and command the big prices, the 1968 through 1972 models and beyond are finally getting the respect they've deserved for so long. These cars are still mostly affordable and offer great performance and knockout styling!
The 1968 through 1972 models are actually better-driving cars, which improved each year, and they handle better at higher speeds than their predecessors, mainly due to aerodynamics.
The 1969 and later seats are much more comfortable than the mid-year seats. The Corvettes of this era were terrific handlers and used basic coil springs, ball joints, and tie rod ends out front.
The Corvette interiors from 1968 through 1972 are fairly comfortable, and well appointed. The engineers designed a stunning dash with large tachometer and speedometer directly in front of the driver. Housed in the center console were five standard gauges, including a clock, oil pressure, battery, fuel and coolant temperature!
